Using Orgfaces
Everything happens on this device. These are the details worth knowing before you build a real chart.
Build and edit
Select any card to edit the person, role, department, photo, or manager. Use “Add person” for a new top-level role or choose a manager in the side sheet.
Deleting a manager moves their direct reports to the deleted manager’s manager. Use undo immediately if that is not the structure you intended.
Use the options menu in the editor to switch between top-down and left-to-right layouts or compact and comfortable cards.
CSV import
Open a chart’s People table and choose Import. Map the name and role-title columns; manager, department, email, and location are optional. Manager email is the safest relationship key. Unknown managers become top-level positions for manual repair.
Local storage and privacy
Chart structure is stored in this browser’s localStorage. Uploaded photos are compressed and stored separately in IndexedDB. No chart or photo is uploaded by Orgfaces.
Clearing site data, using a different browser, or using private browsing can remove or isolate your charts. Export a portable .orgfaces backup regularly; it includes charts, planning data, and compressed photos.
